Favourite 90'

I am on a quest to find the one of my approx. 90' rackets I really, really like the best. I have: Vac 90 Pro, Prestige, PSO, PSC, Yonex RD ti 70, MW100, HM100, Redondo, ROK, K90, BLX6.1, Head Graphite Pro, DunlopMAX200G and Volkl tour 10.
Results so far: MW100 has great pocketing. HM less so, but a lot of spin, fun. Redondo has a bit to little power and sweet spot. PSC a bit too stiff and powerfull. K, BLX, Graphite Pro and MAX 200G feels comparably too heavy for me at the moment. Right now my favourite is the Fischer90. Its aerodynamic profile gives it a bit more forward power than the box beams, making it a bit more direction/height precise and playable, with perhaps a bit less spin. I will post further findings.
I am using Gosen OG Micro 16 at 22kgs for 18x20 rackets, 24kgs for 16x19, 23kgs for the 16x20 VAC90.

Asian K90 is my favorite.

Damn, and I am not sure I will ever get my hand on one of those. How many grams is it?

retrowagen 03-23-2013 01:59 PM

Mine are (in order):
1988 Head Elite Pro
1987-1993 Fischer Vacuum Pro Midsize
1986 Prince Graphite Composite Series 90

VaporDude95 03-24-2013 12:14 AM

K90. Nuff said.

Tennis Man 03-25-2013 06:16 AM

Prestige Pro (original) is the best, IMHO.

K90 is the one I use most of the time.

vsbabolat 03-25-2013 08:43 AM

Fischer Vacuum Pro Midsize
Head Graphite Tour 600
Prince Graphite 90

Prince CTS Approach 90

Is the Max 200G a true 90?

Prince's Mag Pro 90 was one of the very best I've ever used.

No, it's more like an 84.

Could be it. My test programme is in a slump because I am sticking to this for the moment.

Sander001 09-08-2013 05:56 AM

For months I extensively tested the Wilson [k]factor Tour 90 against the Yonex RDS001 90 and the Yonex won out. Bigger sweetspot, more spin, lighter swingweight, more comfortable.

One major problem with the Yonex is that it was damned ugly.

If strictly limiting it to 90's, the Fischer Vacuum Pro 90 is the one for me. If including racquets of the "ilk", I have to include the Dunlop Muscle Weave 200G and Wilson Ultra FPK 95 on my very short list.

I haven't had many so I can only comment on what I've played with. My absolute favourite 90 was the Prince CTS Thunderstick 90. Oh My Lord, the service power I got with this thing was immense. Couldn't do anything else with it though. You'd need a shoulder holster to house another stick. Serve with the prince then swap it out to play the rest of the point.

But I still wish the box beam of the K was like 1 mm higher, and 1 mm narrower, to give it a bit more foreward power. It would make it more playable for me.
Edit: I need to test out the PK Rod Laver Heritage Series I bought at a sale...

Goly 09-11-2013 02:11 PM

Fischer Vacuum Pro Midsize
Wilson nSix-One Tour 90

HRB 09-11-2013 02:19 PM

Head Graphite Pro...precise and comfy...that is until set three and I'm fatigued....then give me a PS 6.1 95 or my Radical TT MP!

CHOcobo 09-11-2013 02:57 PM

I've always wanted a K90. How does that compare to the Bio 100 (not AG 100 or 4D 100)?

PBODY99 09-11-2013 04:51 PM

Yamaha White Gold 90

I have a AG100 in the bag to try out, have not played extensively with it. That is the closest I can get.
Btw, K gives me more feel, plowthrough, power, spin than BLX 90, so that one is in the also rans. Ofcourse it could be partly due to Wilson quality control but still. The BLX feels sort of numb.

Prince CTS Graduate Oversize.
