Air Max Cage sizing.

I've used the Breathe Free 2, Breathe Free 2k10 and Lunar 8 and all were size 10. Should I still size down to 9.5?

Yes, size down, or double sock it up. IMO the Cages are better double socked any-who, but if you can deal with the funky lacing system get the Courtballistec 4.3 the cushioning is way better.

This shoes might be very weird in terms of size. You will hear different answers.
For me, size down.

No....not in my opinion. Same size as Breathe 2k10, Lunar 8 and BF 2 for me.
I wear an 11 in all of them.

I sized down and it's been fine.

I bought my normal size (10) and they fit me fine. But I do agree I'd double sock these especially for matches/tournaments.

I wore 3 different 2k11 all in size 10. Just received Air Max Cages(Black/Volt) and sized down 9.5 and they were perfect. I'd say if you have a narrow to medium foot you may not be happy with the width. Its roomy up there....which I like:-)

1/2 size down is too tight, from my experience.

jelichek 04-01-2013 04:22 PM

If you have narrow foot go down. I'm always somewhere between 10.5 and 11 depending on shoe. Tried these things in 10.5 and too much shoe. Too much "cage" up front. Way too bulky. Had brilliant idea of trying a 10 which I probably haven't worn since 8th grade and they are a nice fit. Got rid of all the extra room and I've now found best Nike shoe for me since 2K10's which I wear in 10.5 although when that shoe first came out it was an 11 that fit best. Then Nike decided to overcook those and it was down the 1/2 size. Would be so nice if they could just come up with a somewhat standard sizing but I'm guessing with all the different Asiatic factories that's not gonna happen.

I went half a size down and it feels great

goosala 04-02-2013 05:57 PM

I fit the same size 9 that I always have.

Has anyone tried to wear a WHOLE size down? :)

jelichek 05-09-2013 04:51 AM

Yes I have. My actual size is 11. Wear 10.5 in the 2K10's and I thought that would be the size in the Cages but it is kinda big so I have been wearing a 10 in them and other than the fact they are a little snug it took away all that bulkiness that was up front. My biggest problem is I have two different size feet. My right is an 11 and the left is a 10.5 so I'm always caught in the middle it seems with everything.

How is the length of the size 10 to you? Is it just enough?

jelichek 05-09-2013 10:40 AM

Yeah length is not really where snugness comes in although my right foot (the 11) is very close to the front edge - not really bumping - but very close. If I didn't know better I'd say my feet are shrinking. I'm struggling to find a replacement for my 2K10's and trying to find clay court shoes all at same time. TW was good enough to send me the new Vapor and Ballistec Clays shoes (I feel so bad for them as I always end up sending stuff back) and both fit better (but not quite right) in a 10.5 - I have a very high instep and am just not happy the way both pairs lace up at the top. I've become so picky and am so screwed finding shoes to fit! That's why I tried the Cages in 10 in the first place. Like a science fair project! And one final thing, when you go small like this sure can't wear thick socks. Gotta go on thin side there.
