Tommy Haas what's next?

Will he fare well as he get's into the clay/grass court seasons?

PhrygianDominant 03-31-2013 12:58 AM

He does fairly well on all surfaces. It has always been mental toughness/fatigue with him. Evident during his semifinal with Ferrer.

Slide back down the rankings, down and out of the top 100 for good. :-P

Elite 03-31-2013 01:24 AM

Not sure about his schedule, but he should do relatively well at either Halle or Queens during the grass season.

wilson_nxt 03-31-2013 01:29 AM

He does Houston next, then MC.
Agree re: mental side, and he's got a large 6'2 frame to carry around at 35yo. He should be good at Wimb but needs to win in straights the whole way through. A typically damp UK summer would help him too as the roof goes up and it becomes indoor carpet event!

Haters gotta hate.

Haas is good on clay. The change of surface shouldn't be a problem for him especially with his recent gains in confidence.

Lavs 04-10-2013 07:41 AM

next in Houston.
go Tommy!

forzamilan90 04-10-2013 07:42 AM

Haas ain't gonna quit...he's dedicated to the cause of tennis....he has really strong ranking

bluetrain4 04-10-2013 07:53 AM

As long as he's not injured, I think he'll continue to have "strong" results - notable wins, good tournament runs, combined with some expected and a few unexpected losses. Everything but contending for Slams.

Don't show that Haas pic to Nalbandian...damn

Why do you have to hate on Tommy? Aren't you busy hating on Fed?

Who said I hated Tommy Haas? Tommy Haas' future is to slide down and out of the top 100. :-P

spinovic 04-10-2013 09:30 AM

Not likely he'll slide in the rankings as he doesn't have a whole lot to defend until after Wimbledon. He's playing excellent tennis, so I wouldn't be suprised at all to see him crack the top 10 again. He lost the final in Hamburg last year and his R32 finish at RG is his best slam result since the beginning of 2012, so he can play on dirt.

I'm pretty sure he says that about everyone that isn't Nadal whenever they string together a couple of good wins.

I like how you use your signature to try and convince other people that your first account belongs to a different person.

On topic, Haas can play on clay, grass, and hard courts. Unless his body fails him, he won't be moving down in the rankings.

tacou 04-10-2013 09:36 AM

just stay healthy please

eventually that will happen but he would Need to lose a ton of matches for it to happen in 2013.

Hopefully, Berankis will take him to the woodshed at the Houston tournament. Berankis has been left behind by his the likes of Tomic, Dmitrov, Nishikori etc. Time to shine Ricardas !!
