Singles Sticks

Hey guys, does anyone know how to measure the net height using singles sticks?

It should still be 3' at the center strap.

You can't since singles sticks are suppose to support the edges of the net at 40". Have to subtract 6" from that. Easier to carry a small tape measure. Or figure out length of racquet (e.g. 27") PLUS number of main that is equal to 9" (e.g. 16). That way, you can use the racquet like days of olde (length + width = 36").

I'm afraid that's a little 'early morning' math. ;) 40-6=?
Might help my serve a bit :)

If they were my singles sticks, I'd just mark them at 3' so they could be used to measure the center of the net.

42" at the posts/sticks, 3 feet at center.

so make a mark at 6" from top of stick.

For measuring net height in the middle, one should bring a wood racket with them to the courts.

Keep your wood racket in a press so the proper net height is not compromised.

A wood racket with leather grip makes a classy measuring device (and conversation piece).

Hope this helps........

Cut a piece of string to the right length, and add a bit of lead (tape or fishing sinker) to pull it straight. Keep it in your tennis bag :)
