Worst racket used by a pro?

Yes I know there have been threads on this topic before, but all are from about 8 years ago, so everyone says Prince Diablo, Original Pure Drive etc. I know rackets have improved a lot since then, but what do you think is the worst racket currently used by a professional player?

Dumb thread is dumb.

They're pros, they can use a 2x4 and still beat the rest of the world.

I'm not saying they can't? I'm not actually talking about the player, I'm talking about the racket. A Pure Drive is the Holy Grail to some, but a pile of pish to others. That is why I started this thread, as I'm interested to hear people's opinions. So IMO, your point is invalid...

Here is one by some guy that goes by the moniker, Rafa.

In the past, Jimmy Connors has used some pretty bad rackets. The T2000 had to be one of the worst ever. Unless you count the frying pan, yes an actual frying pan, used by the greatest tennis hustler of all time, Bobby Riggs.

Thanks for the feedback, but I'm asking what you think the worst racket used by a current professional player is?

That's probably Del Potro. He has only five rackets left of his Wilson k-faktor. Heard there are no tubings left and the five rackets get strung so many there is hardly and stability left.

Kudoos for him playing so well with them, but seems he is to afraid to make a switch.

Superstitious guy. He won the USO with it, and he got his injury without it. Therefore he won't play with anything else until they are destroyed. Which could very well already be the case.

this one sucks pretty bad. Not even a leather grip. The blisters you get with this are pretty bad. I wanna see Nadal play with this thing as is

Golf spikes

NLBwell 05-04-2013 06:06 PM

Probably was a rainy day when the picture was taken and he was using spikes not to slip.

Worst rackets ever were probably the Chemold aluminum rackets that a lot of the Australians (Laver, Roche, etc. ) signed on to play with. Terrible rackets even for the aluminum rackets of the day. They even painted wood rackets to try to look like the aluminum ones. May have been the first true paint-jobs (though pros did have custom-made wood rackets).

brinkeguthrie 05-04-2013 06:37 PM

'worst' is an ambiguous term. a racquet is only as good as the player holding it. Someone mentioned T2000- Connors won a few slams with it if I recall, so that frame had some big wins in it. Others couldn't use it. So is it the frame's fault? Nope.

I'm trying to recall all the frames I've used..and this goes back to wood! Bancroft Borg, Donnay Allwood, Donnay Borg Pro, Fila Wood 1, Head Vilas, Slazenger V24, Prince Woodie, Prince Graphtech DB, and my current frame I've had forever, the original Prince oversize.

Of those, the Borg Pro and the V24 were dull lifeless hunks of wood and laminate. The Fila 1 is prolly my favorite ever, that and the Vilas.

So......the worst for me? The Slazenger wins. Or loses.

Shaolin 05-04-2013 06:56 PM

That two handled Battistone racquet.

I would quit tennis before I used that.

I find your post is often like this. Does it make you feel superior?
