Babolat Aeropro Drive Original NEW!!

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and wanted to share pics of a brand new Babolat APD original I just took delivery of. I know some people recommend against buying from the big auction site, but I'm a long time user and always deal with reputable sellers with high volumes of sales and good feedback.

In this case, I was lucky enough to find this gem from a sports store liquidation sale in Belgium. Picked it up for $150 including shipping - brand new with promo tag and wrapped handle.

I have two other Aeropro Drives non-cortex so knew what to look for in terms of authenticity.

Hope APD fans will enjoy these pics.

are you giving it away?

It's been the holy grail for me ever since I first hit with an APD original - finding an NOS one. Can't be giving away my new baby hehe.

That's ff'ing expensive right there. Saw a bunch of these a couple of months back in a Babolat outlet store for half that amount. They don't have that expensive collectible status (yet).

Still a great racquet and a nice wallhanger.

Really, did you grab them? I would have taken the lot at that price. I'm surprised Babolat stores would still have these though.

Another APD non cortex NOS one is currently on the auction site for $350 starting bid. Now that's expensive!!

You lucky git :)

These commonly get bidded up to $300.00 in NOS condition, so very nice purchase there. I remember someone paying $400.00 this past summer.

As a long time use of the oAPD, it's an absolutely great racquet! Likely the best Babolat ever. So, very nice find and GREAT deal!

Thank you P.Floyd and definitely agree with you. Coming off the Wilson K Blade 98, I used the APD GT 2010 for a few years, then tried a friend's non cortex and was hooked. Love the feel of it, and the awesome paint job. Makes me wonder why Babolat don't go back to darker shade for new iterations of the APD. Although it seems to be headed that way based on the last two models.

Wish they'd rerelease this as the APD Classic.

Nope, in The Netherlands. I should've picked up the lot seeing those crazy numbers out there.

Nice find. I think this is the one Nadal actually uses.

gavan55 06-08-2013 02:12 AM

yes it is. This forum is where I learnt of this fact. Lots of photo evidence of his actual APDs with painted on "cortex".

gavan55 06-15-2013 06:31 AM

Rorsach, have you been back to the Babolat Outlet store? Wish we had them here in OZ.

Yes! Great idea.

gavan55 06-27-2013 02:26 PM

yes, like the PS85 rerelease, as long as it's identical to original

Got 2 on the way - a NOS (not as reasonable as yours OP) and a player. Can't wait.

Why do you like the Originals vs the Cortex ones?
