[1] Federer vs [Q] Delbonis Hamburg SF

Fed has been pushed to three sets twice so far in Hamburg, can he beat Delbonis to move to the final against either Almagro or Fognini?

JRAJ1988 07-19-2013 12:10 PM

I'm going to go with Federer in 3, Del Bonis may take the lefty Nadal route of constantly battering his backhand.

Fed is winning Hamburg. End of story.

JGads 07-19-2013 12:12 PM

There was such potential for cool Fed matchups in this tourney - Gulbis, Verdasco, Janowicz, Haas. Completely awash.

I think Federer will take it in straight sets, although I was wrong with him winning in straight sets today. Delbonis might be a little tired from his long match with Verdasco today.

Not every lefty is RNadal (if you know what I mean) ;)

You're right :)

I always have this default stereotype view every left handed player who plays Federer thinks "Topspin forehand to Roger's backhand...every point"

I hope for a Federer vs Fognini (mark 2) final!

If Delbonis can contest Roger, then he must SERIOUSLY think about retirement.

I saw this Delbo guy against Verdasco.
He was actually playing well and can give good fight to Roger.

Delbonis #114

If Rafa loses to a player around #100 people bash him during months, as happened with Rosol, but hey, Delbonis #114 is a superplayer who "can give good fight".

It seems like someone is getting ready to receive bad news...

one does not simply skip clay court 500s for nearly a decade then just decide to come back and win it, the Almaestro will defend his territory like koala defends eucalyptus tree
