13 year old starter

I know this Junior that plays out in a San Francisco tennis complex and he started at 13 years old. He had a history in baseball and has great hand-eye coordination. He is now 14 but beating most of the Juniors and Seniors at the complex. His coach coaches several clinics and i know he is a high quality coach. Does this kid have a good D1 future or even beyond.

You won't know until he's about 16 and gets more tournament experience and exposure to the grind. Some naturally talented players never really figure out how to win or can't handle the pressure, some choose to specialize in another sport, some kids mature/peak at a young age and don't ever become anything special once everyone else catches up.

It would be outside the norm, but I guess stranger things has happened.

By the time he turns 18, he will have played tennis for almost 5 years.
Most players peak after 3-4 years, get bored, lose interest, gain interest in other things...girls, motocross, surfing....
5 years is plenty to make 5.0 level, or higher if he's tall and quick.
Div1 is mostly 5-5.5, with a few 6.0 sprinkled in.
San Francisco has a history of players starting late in life, and making the top levels. CeciMartinez, Marcie and MareenLouie, make pros starting around 13.
