Bernard Tomic 2014 racquet

I think this image was taken this week:

What's the racquet?

The blue head looks a bit like the Head Instinct but the pink neck throws me off.

The ovalness rules out a Yonex though, which is good - he made his breakthrough at Wimbledon 2011 with Head, and his only other success since then was the 10 win streak at the beginning of this year, when he started using a blacked out Head while still signed with Yonex.

Thoughts?

Bernard Tomic has parted ways with Yonex by the looks of it! I went onto the Yonex website and looked under tennis and then players and he has been removed.. Id assume he is either going to sign with head or he will just have to get his own racquets... what do you think?

This racket has a much tighter string pattern than the IG/Graphene Instincts...

I'm watching the Hopman Cup right now and it looks like he's using a Head YouTek Graphene Speed, not sure which one, but definitely not the Instinct looking one above.

Looks like maybe the graphene radical, but most likely a PJ of his old 260.2

Jeddza3aussie 12-28-2013 05:04 AM

Well there is no doubt he has left Yonex, i recon there'll be some sort of announcement at the Australian Open that he has signed with Head, much better player with a Head racquet in hand!

New PJ, same Tomic.

What a shock! I cant believe he is not using that new 2x4 Graphene Radical!

niktub 12-28-2013 09:07 AM

Well it's not Head's new idea for an open pattern frame ;) I'd say he is just referring to the new rad as a stiff piece of wood
