Roland Garros Stats...

IT seems to me that the stats at the official roland garros website are a bit off. During Agassi match, they showed Agassi's unforced errors for the first set (something like 20), while the stats at the website show that he has only 14 errors in the WHOLE MATCH!!! I started to wonder after i saw Dementieva's 20 doubles faults and only 3 UE showing! Another thing is that most of the players today had positive winnner/EU difference which is highly unusual for FO first round.
What do you guys think?

I think we should pick out some match we are sure many will be able to watch and score the match ourselves. Then compare our results here on the board. It would be interesting to see what we come up with, no?

The stats not only inaccurate, it is also varies from court to court...
Davenport, Henin, Mauresmo matches all played on centre court and stats seems accurate, while Sharapova, Dementieva (18 DF and only 6 EU showing) and obviously off..

Camilio, that sounds like a great idea. Lets wait a little longer into the tourney and then do it.

NoBadMojo 05-24-2004 07:47 PM

it all depends on who is manning the stat computer at the match IMO. at the recent pro tourney here, the operators of the stat software were all over the place in their ability to determine a true UE from a filet mignon ;) ed

Ok, just checked the Labadze vs. Johannson match. Labadze hit 54 winners and 6 errors, eh? And Johannson hit a measly 62 winners and only 17 errors. Plus, check spadea's match. The fastest serve of the match, -1 kmh. It's the same for every other serve speed in that match, lol

gonzalez had just ONE unforced error in the 1st set of his match, according to the stats...

YEAH RIGHT

PureCarlosMoyaDrive 05-25-2004 07:23 PM

I think it's been fixed now, stats are coming out more realistic. And if Gonzo had only one error in a set, you'd be ruined....
