Getting easy winners
Does anyone know any ways to get your opponent to hit a high shot because I put away ever high shot someone gives me and I want to find ways to improve my game and more easy winners seems a good first step.
And don't say rush to the net and let them lob it over you because usually when they do that you have to hit a defensive shot to counter the lob. |
well...you can lob it and stay back at the baseline...OR hit it w/ enough topspin to make it kick above head level of your opponent...OR you can hit a nice dropper and hope that he will tap it high enough?
|
Well I can't hit my forehand or backhand with a lot of top spin. Maybe I will make a thread later on how to put top spin on forehands.
|
If I follow what you want, take a little off your shot and hit a high shot with topspin. Kind of like a topspin lob, keep it deep...Most players will hit the same shot in return, if you hit it deep enough (unless they hit it on the rise)...

Yes, the classic (modern) thing coaches are teaching is to 'roll' the ball deep, near the baseline to force your opponent to hit a weak reply which you can attack.
|
I agree, hit the ball deep. Also, move your opponent around to put them on the defensive.
