I think the most dangerous opponent for Federer in his quarter of the draw could be Hrbaty. He is the kind of player that can bother Federer, not Ferrero, Safin, Soderling...on clay. Also, Hrbaty has a 2-0 record against Federer (but their meetings were in 2000 and 2004). At least he will be confident and not afraid to play against him. Actually, Hrbaty's 2 wins over Federer were on indoor carpet and fast hard courts.
Hrbaty hits flat which can be some problem on fast courts.
Everyone thinks Federer is a fast court player but he actually
has been doing much better on clay than on indoor carpet, especially
at Hamburg, one of the slowest court on earth.
