You want a callus to form, that way you won't get any more blisters. You don't fresh "baby" skin on your hands all the time... unless you like fresh blisters all the time.
Before a match in high school I rubbed Orajel on my blister (after it popped), it numbed the pain for about 30 minutes or so, then it wore off. I had to keep applying more throughout the match, but it helped.
