It plays quite soft I found; it's softer than pl2 and MUCH softer than ALU. I got 5 hours out of the 16 before breaking but it kept it's playability right up until the end.
I'll be surprised if you don't find it fairly soft-I did mine at 56/54 and the temps were in the 40's and it was still really nice. I was with the 16 so the 17 should be even nicer from a feel standpoint.
Be sure to try out the spinX as well.
