Using white athletic tape is common on the circuit to enlarge or change grip shapes--not every player can afford Roman's fees. It is easily available from the trainers, and tears in a straight line, which is even better than cutting. Also, its rough outer surface and stickiness when hot, allows your grip to adhere to your modification well. Additionally, 1/2 inch lead tape is of the same thickness, so they are interchangeable on the pallets for whatever your needs maybe.
