I wouldn't be so sure about that. Yes, Grosjean did eventually hold his serve, but he had to expend a lot more energy late in the 5th set on a very hot day to do it. That wasted energy from that extended game, that he had really already won, I think cost him the match as it was obvious he was exhausted in that last game in which he was broken to lose the match. After that long game, which was extended due to what Kiefer did, Grosjean didn't win another game.

Also, perhaps in the back of his mind, he was also afraid that Kiefer would throw his racquet at him again, which may have disturbed his concentration for the rest of the match?
