This ridiculous notion of fortifying sangria just keeps coming up and I am no longer sure how to respond to this (what appears to be) nonsense. Sangria is a summery hydrating revitalizing light and cold fun fruity kind of beverage. Itís not about upping the alcohol content to enhance the sedative effect, itís about summer relaxation. I would add a little ryokucha and maybe use tonic water in place of mineral sparkling water, but thatís as far as my comfort zone extends when it comes to adventurous experimentation with sangria recipes. I am sorry if you find my comments offensive.
