Double edged sword...wouldn't the opponents win on technicality if they get to now play and then win? They were the unprepared ones for the set date/time. Went as far as to inform opponent of a default that now gets recinded...on a technicality.
That is why OP is frustrated. Getting pencil whipped sucks.
