I think they will get more protection against the better teams, where the midfield will be more balanced. Khedira and Schweinsteiger can shield the defence quite well when they have to.
Yesterday could be an anomaly, Greece are quite unique in their ultra defensive style so i'm willing to give Germany a pass for that one. Do it again and they will have problems though, against Portugal and then probably Spain, they're both more than good enough to punish any defensive lapses.
