I've never been totally sold on the Becker being better than Edberg thing. They won the same amount of majors and, without doubt, Becker has the young legend thing going for him for winning Wimbledon so young as well as a number of YECs. I think his fame for that makes him sit in people's minds more than Edberg.
Edberg however managed to get and hold the number #1 spot a lot longer including two end of year top ranks - which Becker never did.
(He also won an Olympic gold medal - hey, if people want to count Nadal's then do we count Edberg's "demonstration gold"?
Not to mention Edberg also had some amazing doubles results and was ranked #1 there as well.
