I think he should rest. His best shots at slams are the first 2 of the year on slower surfaces.. AO and FO... go with that! maximize your chances.

Unless Rafa has a goal to get back to #1 which he really shouldn't care about too much, his goal should just be to snag the majors he can.. and he can win the FO playing at 80% for the next 2-3 years
