The roof changing the conditions has less to do with the light than it does with the humidity.
The light is the
reason they close the roof. The shift in humidity happens
after they close it, and is something else that affects conditions.
(It's one of the reasons Roger can close sets out much faster when the roof is closed. He's essentially playing indoor tennis.)
