The conversions of grass, hard, indoor courts into pretty much similarly slow surfaces, around 2003-4, makes more difficult
to compare eras.

This is baseline game on slow to medium slow courts all year long makes the tour as single season.

I don't think we ever had this kind of homogeneous tour condition in our tennis history.
