I gave Red Code a try a while ago, when I was testing different crosses w/ my gut mains. While I liked it, personally I could not tell much of a difference between it and other cheaper polys. Sure, as a full bed there might be a difference, but in the setup I was using, nothing noticeable.

If you are looking for more control, you probably won't notice it w/ gut mains. That setup will get more power, more feel and *maybe* a little less control, but not more.
As others have stated here, putting gut in the cross is a waste of money, and you can probably get very similar results with a good multi.
Having said that, I highly recommend giving gut mains a try. Stick with your normal tension for the Red Code crosses and bump the gut up 2-3 lbs from that.
