Some private schools have a dress code, but more importantly, they have a code of conduct.
You don't behave, you don't maintain a certain average, you are disrespectful, you are out.
No contract for the next year.
The private schools are not beholden to the student and the family, you are beholden to them.
And the girls won't have time to be mean to each other, they are too busy studying.

A truly bizarre way to summarize the difference between private and public schools. News flash: One of the biggest problems with public schools is that they are not beholden to the student and the family. They are a government near-monopoly. Don't like what they are doing? Tough luck. Don't like the peer pressure at the school? If it is not something illegal, tough luck.
Private schools, on the other hand, have paying customers. The fact that they are willing to cut loose a troublemaker is because the paying customers who want that kid expelled vastly outnumber the lone paying customer who does not want that kid expelled.
