Let's not forget the erectile dysfunction issue associated with upright bike riding. In his pioneering work about 15 years ago, Dr. Irwin Goldstein at B.U. found a 4 % rate of impotence in bike riders versus 1 % in the control group, a consequence of pressure from the seat that damaged perineal arteries.
