I think most people would agree REM was never the same after Bill Berry left. Except for "Automatic for the People" (can't go wrong with the Nightswimming, Man on the Moon, Find the River ), I prefer the pre-Scott Litt era.
Generation X was also a band. A fine one too at that. Fostered Billy Idol.
