Funny story...drove from Brooklyn to Asbury Park with a friend in the mid-70's to see his fave band, Slade, play warm-up for the Top. The crowd wanted ZZ on ASAP and booed Slade off the stage after maybe 4 songs. My friend was crushed and left...he missed a very good set from them! The ride back was unpleasantly quiet...he slept off the buzz from his binge at a bar down the street. As I dropped him at his house, a Top song came on WNEW...he left cursing!
I think 'Fandango' still is one of the better live albums around.
But Budgie , man , they literally flew under the radar in the US.
In Europe they were huge.
