That whole extra game was really going to make all of the difference, wasn't it?

No-one objects to a player retiring when there is a risk of making an injury worse, but if it's just a case of realising you aren't going to win, and your opponent is very close to victory - give them that victory.

There's no way all of these retirements were done out of a generosity of spirit towards his opponents. That's plain deluded.
