Tried a new beer over New Year's that was truly impressive - the Founders Backwoods B-astard. It's their Dirty B-astard aged in oak barrels - one of the best oak aged beers I've tried (alongside the Tyranena Rocky's Revenge).
It's almost like drinking a mild bourbon - heavy vanilla flavor, very smooth mouthfeel, and a pretty hefty alcohol flavor for a beer (it comes in at a hair over 10% ABV). Highly recommended.
Just need to quote this, as I got a hold of the 2012 vintage over the weekend and sampled one last night. This is a ridiculously good brew. Well worth the pricetag IMO.
