What you aren't considering is it doesn't matter how
you hit the ball, it matters how
he hits the ball. If he comes through the ball in a fairly level stroke, all the work in the world isn't going to hurt his strings unless you hit hard enough to hit through them. Play long enough and with enough people and you'll see it.
