Default Fasciitis and the Barricade

I don't know what causes mine to flare up, but I've definitely moved the only pair of Barricade 7s I own into the category of 'shoes I wear after the match around the club.'

My orthopedic surgeon pal (who's also a damn fine 5.0 player) claims that it is the stiffness of the upper of the Barricade that inhibits the natural flex and pronation of the foot, especially in movements where you end up on your toes. Since I play almost exclusively on hard courts, I needed to go to a lighter shoe and for me the CB 4.3s have the right arch support.

I suspect that a molded arch insert might help, as would typical RICE treatments, and the coke bottle exercises (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0oYIZsmPmc)

good luck,
sk
