One thing that has helped me get more racquet head speed on the serve is to focus during the last part of the serve on leading with my elbow, then with the butt of the racquet, before finishing with pronation of the arm. That would be shots 12, 13, and 14 in charliefederer's Sampras montage. Just those things have made a big difference in my consistency and serve speed. I visualized and then practiced them relentlessly without even hitting a ball, and of course actually hit a lot of practice serves. When I'm hitting them well I fell like I'm cracking a whip and they really pop off the racquet face. Now I can work on everything else that's wrong with my serve but at least I don't arm them over any longer.
