I think it was Todd Woodbridge who made a fine observation about him at last year's AO. He thought his shot selection was like a club player at times insofar as he goes for the cute shot for no reason or takes the pace right off the ball even when he has plenty of time for no apparent reason. He looked like a ball feeder to Federer at times during their game lobbing sitters over the net for him to blast away for winners. Woodbridge observed then, as have many others since, that a proper professional coach wouldn't put up with that dross for ten minutes but tell him he had to redline his game if he wanted to play with the big boys.
