Agassi was Sampras' biggest rival but the problem is, he was a bit of a headcase for much of his career and thus it was never a consistent rivalry. Only in 1994-95, 1999-01 was it a true rivalry.
Still, when they were both on, they were great matches to watch. Such a contrast in styles and personalities. Sampras always had the edge on faster courts and Agassi on slower ones.
It will be a long time before the Americans have anyone worthy of tying either of their shoelaces...
