slice is useful, but not if it is your "go-to" backhand shot.

I slice a lot because it bites low, spins to the side, and messes with my opponents rhythm. It's a good defensive shot when I want to slow down the point, and I have a few different slices I use.
I am gaining confidence in my topspin backhand, but it's taking time. Once it becomes more effective (it's good but doesn't put me at an advantage as much as the slice) I'll use it more
