I'd say on your returns take it earlier than your used to so you can get a little more Angle on the ball. I've found that in doubles topspin tends to work against you if the person at the net knows anything if you hit the ball a little flatter you'll stand a better chance. If you're worried about the alley it just takes practice. I will say doubles helps touch and working on finishing shots. It feels like doubles rewards risk more than singles so if you are a grinder you'll have a harder time getting adjusted. Just my opinion
