I think it has been difficult, in a way. He doesn't seem to of got into the tournament yet, and probably won't in the next round either. He's been complaining about not hitting the ball very well and his timing has been off. That doesn't really come as a surprise when there are no real tests or need for him to do so.
When it's time to play Federer and/or Djokovic, that will no doubt hurt him. I personally think that having it so easy makes it more challenging at the end. Going from playing relative journeymen to Federer and Djokovic over night is a huge step up.
