Good to hear your well-considered thoughts but it must be said that this is all in your opinion. Just because you perceive these to have less cushioning does not make it so, I find the cushioning of Wilson shoes too soft and squidgy and offering poor response to compression compared to say Asics Gels or B7s.

What works for one of us may not work for others. Good luck with the knees, it's great to be able to pick from such a variety of shoes that allow us to keep playing this game.
