I think it is a good choice to play your first series of futures in the US to learn the level and make the necessary adjustments. When it is time to earn points, I would recommend going to a weaker region to get started and play Challenger qualies as soon as possible because this is where the level of play adjustments are the most valuable to success on the tour.
