^^^ yes, if you string your own, you can mount your racquet first.

Then, cut the crosses out starting from throat to head (opposite way they are strung to mimic as closely as possible the stresses of stringing a racquet.

Then go ahead and restring the cross of choice.

If you don't string your own, never just cut out the crosses if the frame isn't mounted, that will warp and damage the frame.
