Really reading through this thread you can see one common theme being brought up slanted one way or the other to support which side of the argument your on.

That theme is matchups and your strengths/weaknesses vs your opponents.

Regardless of the rating of the pair if you cannot exploit your opponents weaknesses and play to your strengths then you will not win.

Cindy your statistics show that regardless of 4.5/3.5, 4.0/4.0, 3.5/4.5 there is no overwhelming favoritism for one type over the other.

No matter how strong a 4.5 male player is his 3.5 female counterpart will have weaknesses. If you can exploit them them then you have a chance of winning.
