I enjoy documentaries, but in general, they are so heavily manipulated as to be essentially fiction.

As an example, Searching for Sugarman, which is overall a good movie, elides the crucial fact that he was big in Australia, and had been touring there when the film makes it seem he was just living in obscurity in Detroit; changes the whole narrative, but of course makes for a much better story.
