I thought the same way too originally, but since year-end ratings factor in benchmark calculations (I believe 50% of your year-end rating comes from your Dynamic NTRP and 50% from benchmark calculations), I'm not sure how this string of matches would be preserved correctly.
Also, I believe there are cases where self-rated players play just 2 matches a year for a few years and never get a C rating which would seem to indicate thing don't carry over. But you did say you thought they might carry over for C rated so that is a different scenario.
