Maintaining a normal testosterone level through old age can definitely enhance quality of life and I have seen no studies that suggest any effect on prostate health beyond benign prostate hypertrophy. You can easily prevent that with a reductase blocker like finasteride or saw palmetto( less effective) Personally if I were a person who wanted to try hormone replacement for men, I would try to find a clinic that would provide a hormone with a higher anabolic to androgenic ratio. A hormone like that would improve muscle tone, nutrient partitioning and fat loss while minimizing hair loss and prostate hypertrophy.
