Default filling palette foam

had a wierd lumpy grip come my way, so i dissected it.
Under the OG & leather OEM grip... some owner had bright idea of
gluing the grip with silicone sealant (yeah the bathroom kind)
& possibly filling up some holes in foam palette

now that all the gunk is removed... what's best material for filling the big holes?

i'm thinking putty or drywall spak is probably too dense & hard

how about space-filler foam from a spraycan, will that go brittle under grip?
