As with many things, the answer depends.

- What gauge is your gut?
- What surface will be playing on? Clay or hard courts?
- What is your playing style? Heavy topspin from baseline or varying spins & slices?
- Do you normally break strings?
- How much do you plan on playing?

Normally here in VA, I can get 4-5 matches out of my gut/poly hybrid during the summer clay season (4.5 level player, predominately baseline). But the last few times I've visited Florida, the string popped after 2-3 matches on clay.

Hard courts, I don't think you will have any issues, but again, it depends on how much you plan to play.
