Too small a shoe or too tight of a lacing habit are what cause this sort of issue. Your feet swell when you play, so you cannot buy a shoe that fits well/snug at home or in the store. Buy a half-size bigger and wear two pairs of socks if you need a more secure fit. Also, don't lace the shoes up like you're going to kill your circulation in your foot. They don't need to be that tight to be secure on your feet when you run and change direction.
