why not do the same drill, but have your hitting partner feed the balls lower over the net to you and do a split step so you can get ready to hit these shots. if you can hit the same angles and keep the bounce low it will be pretty good.
see what changes you'll need to make as that's what you'll face during a match. if in a match and the volley is that high, just smash it into a safe place in the court.
