Take a tennis ball in one hand and approach it with a closed racket. A closed racket has to first contact the top half of the ball.
Agreed, I am not saying the strings contact the ball at 4:30 or 5. Instead, I am just saying the racket face approaches the ball as if it will make contact on lower R side. I agree that if racket face is slightly closed, you cannot make contact that low on the ball.
